I assume you obtained your information from a Melanie Crain in Durham, NC who is a Phlegar historian and a friend of mine. I come from Giles County, VA from one of three brothers who moved to VA from PA in the early 1800s. They were the sons of Frederick but Hans George had a brother named Jacob. I would be interested to learn how a branch of the family wound up in SD.
We visited Germany last year (2009) and went to Wiernsheim where we met some of the locals and especially one whose name appeared over his store. He was as thrilled as us to meet a cousin from America. The Pflugers are alive and well there and in the phone book.
We are planing a trip out west this summer and have scheduled an overnight in Spearfish. It would be interesting to meet some distant cousins. Please feel free to contact me at btphlegar@aol.com or (704) 535-2154Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
